How to Promote Healthy Homes

  1. Ensure the principles of healthy housing – creating safe, dry, clean, well-ventilated, pest-free, and contaminant-free living spaces
  2. Participate in Events and Education
  3. Contact your local, state, or federal representatives to highlight the importance of safe, affordable housing
  4. Join or support coalitions like the National Safe and Healthy Housing Coalition to advocate for policy changes

These programs provide free or low-cost lead risk assessments and, in some cases, physical home repairs for qualified families.
