We believe in the power of collaboration as a tool to combat the housing crisis in Cumberland County. That’s why we’ve formed Action Teams. Each team has a specific area of focus and the team’s work ends when the objective has been accomplished.

Advocacy Team – currently accepting new team members

Meeting Time: The 3rd Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm

The Advocacy Team is for creative thinkers who want to explore new and exiting ways to advocate for affordable housing.

Outcomes we aim to achieve include:

  • Raise public awareness of the causes, severity, inequities, and socioeconomic impact of the affordable housing crisis in Cumberland County.
  • Promote #HousingforAll campaign.
  • Advance fair housing rights and reduce all forms of discrimination.

Landlord Engagement Team

Meeting Time: The 2nd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am

The Landlord Engagement Team seeks to forge connections with the local landlord community. The team’s goal is to identify barriers that deter landlord engagement and figure out the resources needed to promote involvement with people in need of housing.

Outcomes we aim to achieve include:

  • Increase in the number of landlords working with low-income, aging, mental health, and other individuals in need of housing.
  • Education for landlords about opportunities available within Cumberland County.
  • Development of resources to support landlords.

Lived Experience Team – currently accepting new team members

Meeting Time: TBD

The Lived Experience Team seeks to give a voice to those who have experienced homelessness and housing insecurity. The team’s goal is to provide a space where those with lived experience are meaningfully engaged and can provide input within our housing system.

Outcomes we aim to achieve include:

  • Give a voice to those with lived experience.

Service Provider Resource Team

Meeting Time: The 2nd Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am

The Service Provider Resource Team is designed to connect with local service providers, working to identify and overcome barriers that prevent agencies from connecting clients with affordable housing options. Our focus is on determining resource needs that would allow agencies to be more effective in meeting the housing needs of their clients.

Outcomes we aim to achieve include:

  • Increase in the number of clients connected to housing.
  • Decrease in the amount of time it takes to find housing options for clients.
  • Development of resources to support service providers.
