Our History

The Housing Coalition of Cumberland County has grown and evolved through years of collaboration and community focus. Originally established as the Local Housing Options Team (LHOT), the organization rebranded in 2019 as Community Partners for Change to better reflect its expanding mission and partnerships. In 2022, the Coalition developed its first Strategic Plan to guide future efforts and strengthen its impact across Cumberland County. Two years later, in 2024, the organization reintroduced itself as the Housing Coalition of Cumberland County—marking a new chapter centered on collective action, housing equity, and sustainable change. In 2025, the Coalition continued its momentum by launching the Landlord Engagement Initiative and forming a Reentry Housing Subcommittee in partnership with the Cumberland County Reentry Coalition, further deepening its commitment to accessible housing for all residents.
